Welcome to the Say Yes to Wind Farms website campaigning for wind turbines on the fells throughout
the U.K.
Alhough there are many campaigns for and against wind farms, ours began in July 2005. My cousin and I have always felt
strongly about wind farms, and finally decided to take action when driving through Orton and Tebay in Cumbria, and seeing
the many "No Wind Farms" signs.
We do not feel that people know the facts about wind farms, and how much they will help the environment. So we aim to
provide a simple and concise explanation here.
 Ten reasons why we should Say Yes to Wind Farms!
- It will help to conserve energy
- It will help to save the environment instead of destroying it
- It will help to reduce global warming
- It will increase tourism
- Many people think they will look beautiful on the landscape
- They are no more ugly than electricity pylons
- Without wind farms or other means of conserving energy, the landscape will be destroyed anyway
- No dangerous waste is produced from wind power
- It creates jobs
- You will be doing your bit for the environment
